The total number of new foreclosure actions filed in 2013 is finally out. The number for the tri-county area of Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach is 37,300. That is a relatively high number, but the good news is that it’s down 26 percent from the previous year. In 2012 the total number was 50,350, which shows that there is a significant difference between the two years when compared side-by-side. At Graham Legal, we are happy to see these numbers because they also signify that families have more income available and more people are employed. To our clients, the positive figures can give them hope. Many of our clients are experiencing financial hardship because one or more persons in the household are unemployed. This situation is what caused them to miss mortgage payments and eventually led to foreclosure. However, once they regain a strong financial position more opportunities to keep their home become available to them. If you have fallen into foreclosure due to loss of income, speak to one of our foreclosure defense attorneys right away so that we can explain what options are available to you right now and what we can do once you’re back on your feet.
