Comcast offers an assistance program for families that have at lease one child in grade school that currently receives free lunch. The program guarantees a monthly price of $9.95 (plus tax) for monthly internet service, without activation fee or equipment rental fee. Additionally they have a current promotion for families who apply between August 4th and September 20th for assistance, these families will be eligible for a basic home computer at $149.99 (plus tax).
Link Up Florida & Lifeline Assistance:
This is a service provided in the City of Miami, that supplies low-income families with affordable telephone service. Families can qualify for the program if they are currently enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income, free lunch program, and other programs listed on their website. The program applies a credit of at least $9.25 per month toward the telephone bill.
The Jump On it! Program:
This is a non-profit program dedicated to providing needy families with computers. Families may either qualify for a free computer or a low-cost computer available through a lay-away program.
